Hi,

I'm Nathalie.

I'm a professional Jiu-Jitsu starting in the world of photography! I am from Brazil, but currently living the dream in California, USA. Since when I was a kid I used to love taking pictures and loved admiring all kind of photograph.

The beginning of my journey

I started Jiu-Jitsu very young, in the age of 8, in a local Jiu-Jitsu school in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. from there I started competing in small tournaments and when I got promoted to blue belt at 16 years old, I found out I was pregnant. I gave birth to a beautiful boy named Victor Hugo s2. When I though my life as an athlete went to an end, life, with its funny way of working, brought me back to Jiu-Jitsu at 19 years old and I started in competition again, and from there I became a good and dedicated athlete, I became champion in major tournaments and super fights, but I never forgot the love I had for photography. One day I had some extra bucks and purchased my first DSRL Nikon and I started taking pictures, but working as an athlete is really busy then I had to leave aside my hobby.

Years passed and I finally got some time to dedicate in photography and purchased few other camera models to see which one I liked the most and I finally got my Canon :D and I am dedicating a good time in studying and practicing and working with photography!

How it's going

Right now, because I'm involved with Jiu-Jitsu, mostly of my work is coming from it, and it is a great start, I had gone to big tournaments, now from outside of the mats, and there are people who love my work already, and I, also, have great friends, who are in the same market, that helped me and taught me great things in photography. I still want to work in sports photography because the action photos are so amazing to take and so exciting to see when the results come out good, but I've been always taking landscape pictures and I plan on starting other categories like portrait and wedding photography. Actually I want to be a little bit of everything photographer and I want to do it the best way! If you just got here, make sure you stay and follow my growth :)
